Is Peyton Manning a great quarterback?

Yes.

Was he great last night?

Not really.

So why didn't Peyton Manning take the air out of the ball—using Joseph Addai with a 17-16 lead—to keep a very hot Drew Brees off of the field?

Sometimes great players need to realize you can't do it all by yourself.

That's probably a lesson learned for Manning, as he thinks about a bitter defeat in a 31-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Ironically, for the fifth time in the last 11 years, the NFL MVP lost in the Super Bowl.

Things didn't seem so bad for the Colts when the Saints had great field position but only cashed in on three 40-yard plus field goals.
