NFL Draft: Why Beating the Texans Could Hurt the Indianapolis Colts for 10 Years

As a Connecticut native, I was cheering for Colts QB Dan Orlovsky (from Shelton) as he drove the struggling Indianapolis Colts down the field for a game-winning touchdown pass to Reggie Wayne.

But after the game, I realized that Orlovsky's great performance might have set the Indianapolis Colts back 10 years.

Going into the Thursday-night game against the Houston Texans, the Colts were the front-runners for the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

That means they were in the lead to get the sensational Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.

Luck, who has been said to be a virtual lock as a successful quarterback of the future, is the target of a few of the worst teams in the NFL, including the Colts.
