Tight end Dwayne Allen had an exceptional rookie year with the Indianapolis Colts but saw his overall role as a pass-catcher decline thereafter. The two sides have nevertheless concluded it is mutually beneficial for their partnership to continue in the midst of free agency.
Pro Football Talk reported Monday Allen agreed to a four-year, $29.4 million deal to stick with Indianapolis, who originally acquired him in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft. Pro Football Talk noted $12 million will be paid out in the first year, and $17 million will be paid out through the first two years.
