Twitter Reacts to Colts’ Stunning Comeback vs Lions
Posted By Chris Roling On December 2, 2012 @ 6:40 pm In Colts News | No Comments
The Indianapolis Colts [1] stunned the Detroit Lions Sunday as rookie quarterback Andrew Luck threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to receiver Donnie Avery to down the Lions 35-33.
Luck ended the game with the poise of a veteran quarterback and willed the Colts to an eighth win and a firm grip on the first Wild Card seed in the AFC en route to the playoffs.
With Luck recording his fifth fourth-quarter comeback this season in shocking fashion, Twitter exploded with a variety of reactions as the events unfolded.
Of course, NFL [2].com started the action by providing an instant video of Luck’s last-second magic:

As expected, Colts fans were thrilled with the result. The prospects of heading to the postseason with a quarterback not named Peyton Manning [6] so soon has to have the fanbase excited. These tweets showed just that following the victory:
Andrew Luck has ice in his veins, I couldn’t be happier that he plays on my team

I’m just so thankful we went from Kerry Collins and Curtis Painter last year to Andrew Luck..

There was, as always, the strange fan reactions as well:
Andrew Luck, if I wasn’t already married with children. I would have your babies. You are a massive hero and the future of the Colts! #Colts [9]

With the focus on Luck, many analysts, professional and amateur alike, were simply left in awe by his performance:
Not sure what’s more impressive:Luck is 1st #1 pick with 8 win as a rookie, or the fact that 5 of them 4th Q game winning drive variety

Andrew Luck’s GW drive was the perfect combination of quarterbacking with feet and arm. Absolutely remarkable.

I’ve been preaching for a long time now, believe people . . . Colts Andrew Luck is the best rookie QB in the history of the NFL.
— NFLVR (@NFLVR) December 2, 2012 [13]
For as much praise that was being thrown around, there were those who were not too happy with the end result:
Lets be real here I’m not saying Andrew luck isn’t good. I’m not saying that at all, I’m just saying people over hype him.

Andrew Luck should not get credit for game winning drives when he throws 3 interventions to get in that position

There were also Lions fans that didn’t mind watching the magic Luck and Colts performed against their favorite team:
Luck had a lousy game until the final drive when it mattered most. As much as it hurt me, that was fun to watch him lead #Colts [9] to victory.

Whether you’re a fan of the Colts or not, it’s hard to not appreciate what Luck and Co. have been doing on the field this season against all odds. It’s a great story and we’re witnessing history before our eyes.
Twitter has yet again given us a diverse look at the thoughts of many surrounding an NFL event. This time, it was the Colts once again shocking the league.
